Najmuddin Fariduni stated: After 14 hours of continuous efforts by firefighters at the Madani Mall in the old market of Qeshm City, which was the focal point of the fire, as well as a number of shops in the Salehi Mall of this market, the fire extinguishing operation has ended.

The head of the Qeshm Fire Station and Safety Services explained: Given the sensitivity of the issue, 100 firefighters and volunteers from four stations on the island, along with firefighters sent from Bandar Abbas, were dispatched to the scene to control the fire, and after extinguishing it, they are currently in the process of cleanup and environmental monitoring.

Fariduni added: Thanks to the timely arrival of firefighters with 12 operational vehicles, 10 water supply vehicles, and service vehicles, as well as their efforts, the spread of the fire to other shops in this mall and the surrounding mall was prevented.

He appreciated all organizations and executive bodies, especially Pars Behineh Oil Refining Company, Qeshm Mavled Company, Qeshm International Airport, the Zulfiqar Combat Group Navy, the fire departments of the cities of Souza, Tabl, Dargahan, the Dehyari of Ziranag, and Toorian, which mobilized their fire trucks and operational forces during this incident.

The old market of Qeshm, as its name suggests, is the oldest market on this island, with some parts covered and some open.

It is said that the old Qeshm market was established in 1290, and although it has undergone changes in recent years, it has retained its identity and authenticity.

Mehrzad Zare, the HSE and Fire Manager of the Pasargad Heavy Oil Refinery in Qeshm, also commented on this event stating: The old Qeshm market caught fire at 4:30 AM, and upon being informed and requesting assistance, the fastest possible response occurred. With the coordination of senior managers of the refinery and Qeshm Mavled from the subsidiaries of the Pasargad Energy Group, two firefighting teams from the refinery (8 people) and one team from (3 people) from Qeshm Mavled, along with one fire truck, were dispatched to the location, where they immediately began firefighting operations from one side of the market.

Zare also added: Due to the presence of heavy smoke and the special conditions of the site in the old market, operations were slow, but the team was able to complete the firefighting and cleanup operations in less than 14 hours using BA breathing apparatuses.

During this operation, firefighters from the Pasargad Heavy Oil Refinery in Qeshm and Qeshm Mavled, alongside other island firefighters, played an effective role and once again ensured that Pasargad Energy acted on its social responsibility in the region and stood alongside the esteemed residents of the beautiful island of Qeshm, being helpful and effective.
